Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different vehicle types I can select from?

  • With Roundtrip, you can book trips with the appropriate vehicle for your needs. Depending on your benefit provider, you may be able to book one or more of the below vehicle types
  • Standard Vehicle - If you’re comfortable getting to the curb and into a vehicle without assistance, Standard Vehicle is the selection for you. Our trusted, reliable transportation partners for this vehicle type include Lyft, Uber, and Taxi companies.
  • Medical Sedan - If you need assistance getting from your door to the vehicle—or into the vehicle—our Medical Sedan partners are first-aid-certified.
  • Wheelchair Van - If you require a wheelchair, Roundtrip offers a wheelchair-accessible vehicle with an ADA / Medically trained driver. During the booking process, be sure to let us know if your location includes steps, and if so, how many.

When would I need a one-way ride?

  • Round-trip rides are usually the best option for an appointment. You can schedule the pickup time for each leg of the trip.
  • One way rides are useful if you are going to check into a facility for in-patient treatment.

I have a weekly appointment for dialysis. Can I create a repeating ride?

  • Yes! Roundtrip offers the option to schedule a repeating ride, which is helpful if you have a series of recurring appointments. You can choose how often that trip should occur, which days it should occur, and when the series should end.

How far in advance do I have to book rides?

  • For Standard Vehicles, Lyft and Uber are often available for on-demand booking. If those services are not readily available where you live, Taxi will be your option and typically requires at least 48 hours advance booking.
  • For all other vehicle types, your benefit provider will typically require at least 48 hours advance booking.

Is there a mileage limit for my rides?

  • Often, benefit providers will restrict the mileage for rides or trips
  • If your benefit provider has created a restriction and the estimated distance of your ride is more than that restriction, you will get a warning to adjust your pickup and/or dropoff location

How many of my ride credits will a round trip take?

  • Each leg of a trip is considered one ride and will deduct one ride from your available balance when booked.
  • The display at the top of the page lets you how many rides you have remaining.
