When they announced Roundtrip in our nurse navigator meeting, we stood up and gave a standing ovation. This is how we link the service. These patients are well under the poverty line. So to be able to give my patients a service that’s so important to their health and well-being – because Roundtrip picks them up and gets them back home is huge. It’s so easy to do. Previously we were working with a local cab company but it wasn’t working in the ways I needed it to. When I was working with the cab company, you would call initially then call back again and get availability and then add demographics for the patient, then ask for the ride to be approved internally. Then you had to check on the ride. A lot of time on the phone, on hold.*snap, snap* I’m good at it [scheduling online] ‘cause I do it often. It’s smooth. And I don’t need a fax machine. I can’t even fathom doing it the old way. When my patients tell me “that driver was so good to me” and explain he opened the window, he blew the horn , he called me by name – this is what we need. They don’t need another roadblock, a stumbling block, they don’t need another event where they feel like a burden. This is what we need.

Roundtrip is used in a variety of use cases, especially inpatient discharges and transfers.  Our expertise is in streamlining all levels of transportation and payors into the same platform.  This includes BLS, ALS, and CCT, and all insurance payors.

Roundtrip also utilizes customizable logic to route rides to preferred and contracted transportation providers, depending on the facility or vehicle level.  Our electronic PCS form and authorization process ensures transportation providers will be reimbursed without increasing the workload for the hospital staff and dispatchers.

What is Roundtrip?

Roundtrip is a software solution that hospital staff can book rides for their patients.  Roundtrip is a standalone website that users can login to, or we can integrate with Epic for a more streamlined experience.  We understand that patient needs can vary, so with Roundtrip you can book a wide range of vehicle types, including Lyft, Uber, local taxi, medical sedan, and wheelchair van companies.  This tool can allow your team to work at the top of their license by eliminating the countless phone calls and intervention they spend their time on today.

How must does it cost?

With the Master Services Agreement in place, all your department needs to do is work with the Roundtrip team on a Scope of Work.  The determined scope will have an associated flat monthly fee.  All transportation costs will be a direct pass through, and closely negotiated with the local transportation companies.
